The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament has become a cherished peninsula tradition, bringing together business professionals, community leaders, residents, and visitors for a day of fun, networking, and friendly competition. Crystaland Parade:
A Beloved Bolivar Peninsula Christmas Tradition
Each year on the second Saturday of December, the Bolivar Peninsula community gathers for one of its most cherished holiday traditions—the Crystaland Parade in Crystal Beach, Texas.
What began as a festive community celebration has grown into a magical evening that brings together residents, visitors, local businesses, and families to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. As the sun sets and the holiday lights begin to glow, excitement fills the air as children eagerly await the arrival of dear old Saint Nick.
Leading the parade alongside local volunteer firefighters, Santa Claus makes his grand entrance through Crystal Beach, followed by a dazzling procession of decorated golf carts, cars, trucks, and community floats. Participants spend weeks transforming their vehicles into festive displays featuring thousands of twinkling lights, creative holiday themes, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
The event is organized by the Lighthouse Krewe and supported by many local volunteers who help create an unforgettable evening for the community. Along the parade route, families gather to enjoy holiday music, visit with neighbors, and celebrate the season together.
One of the highlights of the evening is the performance by local school children, who fill the air with classic Christmas carols, creating a heartwarming soundtrack for the festivities. Guests can also enjoy complimentary hot dogs, hot cocoa, and holiday treats while taking in the sights and sounds of the season.
The celebration concludes with the announcement of the annual Home Decorating Contest and Business Decorating Contest winners, recognizing the creativity and holiday spirit displayed throughout the peninsula. These contests encourage residents and businesses alike to help transform Bolivar Peninsula into a coastal Christmas wonderland.
